Hi, Our daughter will be 4 years old right at the end of August 2018 and therefore we are having to face the admissions process now and wish to defer her to start reception in sept 2019. We live in a rural location outside Ashford in Kent and have approached 5 local village schools and none of them had even heard about the possibility of deferral and starting in reception class age 5! In fact we have only one school that are happy to discuss it, however they tell us that they have never done it before and it isn’t necessary as all the 4 year olds cope! We would so appreciate some advice from somebody of the best approach to take. Please can anyone help??
