Please write to us and tell us about your experience as a summer born child – good and bad. We’d like to publish as many stories as possible, as one of the aims of this site is to demonstrate that being summer born is not an issue for all children.
It’s also not simply an issue of academic achievement or enjoyment. When recalling their early childhood and teenage years, many summer born children focus on memories that have more to do with thier personal, physical and emotional development. These areas of human development are all too often lost in this debate, and we don’t believe that looking at how or when summer born children are academically tested or assessed is the only solution.
Simply giving them more time to play, grow and mature when they’re four years old can make all the difference in the world for some children.
